Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The partner processes the request and supplies its own results. We do not keep or log those query terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or contact message may be retained so our team can respond. We do not disclose that correspondence outside the organization unless the law requires us to do so.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive certain technical details whenever a page loads:
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Any referring website
- The time of each page request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show aggregate use, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics vendors assist with that measurement. A browser can block cookies, though disabling them may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, maintaining, and improving site performance
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Measuring which material visitors use
- Finding and correcting technical faults
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Hardin County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of dockets or personal case information. It publishes general directions to records held by the Circuit Court Clerk, Circuit Court, other trial courts, and participating TnCIS offices. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party case profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the embedded search tools. Information submitted there is governed by the selected partner's privacy policy rather than this policy. We do not control a partner's retention, use, or disclosure practices, so review its terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Circuit Court Clerk, Tennessee courts, TnCIS, legal-aid resources, or private search services. An outside site's own policy applies after you leave this domain. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising companies may track activity across websites to select ads. That processing takes place through their systems and policies.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures are used to protect collected data. No internet service is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If a minor's information is identified, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy or consumer law may provide additional rights. Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 34 and the Tennessee Public Records Act, T.C.A. § 10-7-503, concern access to qualifying public court or government records; they do not turn this private site's visitor data into a court record. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A revised version will appear here with its new effective date.
